Charlie is a first-generation Dominican-American born lawyer. He was raised in the Harlem section of Manhattan. Charlie is a practicing attorney who specializes in criminal defense, and is a professor at Rutgers University, where he is currently teaching incarcerated students. Charlie is also a mentor, a proud Big Brother of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization, and is on the board of directors for LPZ Cinetech: a nonprofit organization that teaches filmmaking to youths from underserved communities. Charlie is a community activist with a passion for keeping people of color out of prisons, and as you can imagine, his profession helps him do just that.
